How to evaluate sports data

Define the required data fields before choosing a feed: fixtures, scores, match events or player statistics can serve different applications. The initial researched product here concerns live match data. Compiled odds and video are catalogued separately.

Compare identifiers, timestamps, update sequence, corrections and recovery behaviour using the same sports. Establish usage rights, redistribution limits and ownership of event mapping. A real-time description should be converted into measurable acceptance criteria for the operator’s intended system.

Buyer questions, answered

Does sports data necessarily contain compiled odds?

No. The listing must explicitly identify prices if it is also an odds product.

Why are field-level specifications needed?

A shared label such as live data does not establish the same events, fields or correction behaviour.

Can feed content be redistributed freely?

Do not assume that. Confirm the intended use and permitted recipients in the data-rights terms.
