Before you shortlist
Define the client role and required decision before procuring advice. An operator preparing an application, a supplier interpreting technical requirements and a regulator drafting standards need different deliverables. State the jurisdiction, licence or framework context, business model and current evidence. Request the named specialists and distinguish advice, implementation, technical testing and authority decisions.
Compare proposals using the same output list: written gap review, application documents, control procedures, technical requirements, training or ongoing support. Agree which documents the client supplies, which systems are accessed and how confidential evidence is protected. Establish owners for each recommendation and what happens when requirements or the underlying business configuration change.
Set the engagement boundary, review cadence and fees before work begins. Project support, an outsourced role and continuing monitoring have different responsibilities. Identify external laboratory, legal and regulator dependencies, including approval of drafted material. A consultancy’s coverage list or published timeline example does not establish a granted licence, a tested system or a guaranteed market-entry date.

Which project, recurring, specialist, third-party and follow-up fees apply?
The current BetComply services describe preparation and support around an application. Buyers should identify the authority decision separately in the engagement.
