What Mitek MiPass does
MiPass authenticates a returning person using face or voice biometrics with liveness checks. Mitek describes enrolment from a selfie and spoken phrase, cloud-stored templates and subsequent comparison for login, step-up actions or other customer interactions. This differs from validating an identity document at initial onboarding.
Establish the link between the enrolled template and the verified operator account, with consent, retention, fallback and account-recovery rules. Define where biometric authentication is requested and how failure or an unavailable capture is handled. A biometric match supports an authentication decision; it does not establish the legality of a bet, available funds or every current KYC requirement.

Does MiPass verify the original government document?
Its core job is biometric authentication against an enrolled identity. Mitek presents document verification in MiVIP and describes connecting onboarding biometrics to later MiPass authentication.
SourceIs liveness the same as facial matching?
No. MiPass’s FAQ distinguishes checking whether a real person is present from matching the person to an enrolled identity. Both need to be considered in the authentication flow.
